General Description and Classification Standards
The employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Work may be performed on runways, taxiways, and security gates, requiring the technical application of electrical principles. This is a fully seasoned, skilled level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the discipline. Supervision Received Works under general supervision. May work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers to complete assigned tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs runway and taxiway lights and signs powered by 2400 volts and current transformers.
- Performs emergency repairs to runway lights and signs as required
- Installs, repairs, and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery
- Constructs and maintains service equipment
- Reads electrical circuit diagrams and operates power hand tools and specialized equipment
- Requisitions materials and supplies, coordinates with vendors, and recommends purchases.
- Transfers primary power between sources
- Sets poles, strings overhead lines, and performs overhead line maintenance.
- Supervises other employees for a minor portion of work time, including assigning and reviewing tasks.
Pay: $30.00 – $33.00 per hour
