AMC Chartered Professional Accountants Inc., a growing CPA firm in Lower Sackville (HRM), is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent opportunity where you will be working on various engagements relating to our small to mid-sized owner managed clients. Our firm has a great learning environment with a broad range of client industries and engagements. Our firm is dedicated to maintaining work/life balance and values each employee’s contribution. The standard work week (although flexible) would be Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30, with the exception of February- April 8:30-5:00 and a 4 day work week in July & August (Fridays off).
We offer above market salaries, competitive benefit package, semiannual bonuses, professional development/CPA courses & professional dues covered, and the office is closed between Christmas and New Years.
Working closely with the firm’s partners, managers and other staff members, your primary responsibilities will include:
· Year-end file preparation (compilations);
· Corporate and personal tax return preparation;
· Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Bookkeeping & HST;
. Assistance on various projects as required.
Previous Canadian public accounting firm experience would be considered an asset. Experience with Sage, Quickbooks, Caseware, Excel and Profile tax preparation software experience would be considered an asset;
