About the Opportunity
A well-established and highly respected engineering group in Northwestern North Carolina is looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their team. This is the kind of place where senior engineers do real engineering work across genuinely interesting projects.
Client base includes major names in power generation, industrial manufacturing, and large-scale process industries. You will not be maintaining the same line for the next decade. Every project is different.
What You Will Do
- Design, program, and commission control systems for industrial clients across multiple verticals
- Own projects from conceptual design through field startup and commissioning
- Work directly with clients on automation strategy and system integration
- Develop PLC logic, HMI applications, and process control narratives
- Support electrical design including panel layouts, loop sheets, and schematics
What They Are Looking For
- 5+ years of controls engineering experience
- Strong Rockwell Automation platform experience preferred (Studio 5000, ControlLogix, FactoryTalk)
- Integrator or multi-site project experience strongly preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following: power/utilities, industrial manufacturing, chemical, water/wastewater
- Ability to work independently on client sites
- PE license a plus but not required
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
