Solos Energy is a fast growing company in the Okanagan looking to expand our team to match the increased demand for solar. We are focused on residential and commercial solar installations. Job Summary:
As a solar installer you will be in charge of the construction of the mechanical and electrical portion of the solar installation. You will have a qualified electrician as part of the crew to ensure electrical safety. We operate in a wide range of southern BC and travel will be required at times. The ideal candidate wants to be part of a growing team, likes to work hands-on and take pride in his work.
Essential responsibilities of a solar installer:
Lift, transport, prepare and assemble rooftop equipment, properly sealing all roof penetrations on varied roof surfaces
Perform trenching, equipment assembly, concrete work or support structures installation according to owners manual/system designer
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Install electrical components required for the solar system to work, including attic spaces, electrical panels and external wire runs.
Skills & Key competencies:
Ability to work in a team environment
Work in a fast-paced enviroment while maintaining attention to detail
Take pride and responsibility in providing quality work
Ability to safely lift and carry materials 50lbs+ on a frequent basis
Be comfortable working at heights
Ability to stand, bend and twist for long periods of time
Must be willing to work in any multiple weather conditions
Willingness to learn basic electrical work
Be comfortable with using hand tools and power tools
Education & Experience:
Class 5 drivers license
High school diploma
Assets:
Construction and/or roofing experience
Solar installation experience/training
Electrical experience/schooling
Boom truck operator
Vehicle
Fall protection certificate
