About The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Software Security Architect for our west-end client. HQ’d in Kanata, this software company has several offices worldwide to serve their global client base. Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, the Software Security Architect will help design secure software systems, identify weaknesses/vulnerabilities, plan enhancements for existing systems, and ensure their products meet the highest security and reliability standards.
Duties
include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with development teams to architect, design and oversee the development of secure software solutions that meet ever-evolving cybersecurity requirements
Regular execution of tasks such as security assessments,
code reviews
, and threat modelling exercises to ensure security standards are upheld without compromising functionality
Continuous research into
modern
cybersecurity trends and best practices as well as the training and guidance passed along to technical teams
Development and enhancement of the company’s incident response plan

About You
The successful candidate would ideally have the following:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field
8+ years of industry experience with a software development/coding background
3+ years of cybersecurity architecture experience designing and delivering secure software systems/products
Strong knowledge and understanding of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques, cybersecurity frameworks and standards, and experience in areas such cryptography, authentication, authorization, etc.
Exceptional personal polish and interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate with
cross-functional teams
