Basic Requirements
Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration from a university of recognized standing;
Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers;
Experience working in an acute care hospital setting;
Knowledge of a variety of theoretical frameworks and treatment modalities such as crisis intervention, systems theory, etc.
Knowledge of the Health Care Delivery System;
Knowledge of legislation, acts and regulations such as Ontario Works, Public Hospital and Mental Health Acts;
Experience working with issues such as dying, grief and loss;
Ability to provide both group and individual counseling;
Excellent knowledge of discharge planning, community resources and the placement process;
Excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills;
Demonstrated skills in teaching and consultation;
Superior written, verbal and presentation skills;
Ability to multi-task;
Superior interpersonal skills;
Eligible to work in Canada;
Preferred Qualifications
CAS experience;
Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
