Role Overview
- Support digital communications and Indigenous community engagement initiatives through strategic social media and content management.
- Plan, create, and manage content across multiple digital platforms to enhance audience engagement and brand presence.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure content aligns with broader communication goals while remaining culturally respectful and inclusive.
What You'll Do
- Plan, create, schedule, and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Monitor social media engagement, respond to comments and messages as appropriate, and escalate potential issues or opportunities.
- Support website content updates, including posting new content, refreshing existing pages, and maintaining content accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align social media content with overall communications strategies.
- Adapt content for different audiences and platforms, including short-form videos and visual storytelling.
- Track engagement and performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations based on content performance.
- Ensure all content is culturally respectful, inclusive, and aligned with organizational values and community engagement objectives.
What You Have Done
- 3–5 years of experience managing social media accounts for organizations, communities, campaigns, or corporate environments.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X.
- Experience creating engaging visual content and short-form video content.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations, or Indigenous-focused communication initiatives is highly valued.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) and website content updates.
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent written communication skills in English; French language skills are an asset.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote and flexible work environment.
