Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Small Engine/Compact Equipment mechanic to join our team at Rentalex, a leading provider of high-quality equipment and tools in the bay area. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engine equipment, including lawnmowers, generators, power washers, and other small compact machinery from brands such as Wacker, Multiquip, Hilti, Husqvarna, Niftylift and Toro. Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, including but not limited to lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, pumps, cut-off saws, and more.
Maintenance and Service: Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburetor cleaning to ensure equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by explaining issues, repairs, and maintenance needs to customers in an understandable way.
Parts Requisition: Identify necessary replacement parts and order them in a timely manner to ensure quick turnaround of service jobs.
Safety and Quality Standards: Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards while performing repairs and maintenance to ensure high-quality, reliable service.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions for future reference and billing purposes.
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and the management team to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
·Proven experience as a small engine/compact mechanic or in a similar role working with lawnmowers, generators, and other small machinery.
· Strong knowledge of small engine components, repair techniques, and troubleshooting methods.
· Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools safely and effectively.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to customers clearly.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
· Ability to lift 50 Pounds or more and move heavy equipment when necessary.
· Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in small engine repair or related field.
· Experience with a variety of brands like Honda, Husqvarna, Hilti, Wacker-Neuson, Niftylift, Toro and Multiquip.
· Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
