Tuya Construction Ltd. is a civil construction company located in Chilliwack, BC., who is currently looking for a skilled labourer.
Job description
The following are some of, but not limited to, the job requirements, abilities and understandings:
· Knowledge of grades, sloping, elevations and lasers.
· Experience in a civil construction environment.
· Must have valid drivers licence and reliable transportation.
· Be able to complete tasks independently and without supervision.
· Operate and maintain small tools and equipment.
· Handle materials and transport them on job sites.
· Collaborate with team members.
· Maintain job site cleanliness which may include sweeping, shoveling, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste.
· Strong work ethic a requirement.
· Strong written and verbal communication
· Ability to follow instructions and be adaptable to take on new responsibilities as needed.
· Provide labour support as needed.
· Work safely around heavy construction equipment.
· Must have safety boots.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands for this job are as follows:
· Lift and carry materials up to 50lbs
· Stand or walk for long periods of time.
· Extensive shoveling and raking
· Bending and crouching for extended periods of time
· Climbing in and out of trenches
· Climbing on ladders
· Work in extreme temperatures
Work Environment:
The following work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the job holder will encounter
· Work outdoors in all season / year round work
· Work around heavy equipment
· Work near traffic
· Exposure to loud noises
Work in the Fraser Valley between Hope and Abbotsford
Compensation & Benefits
· $26 – $30 / per hour
· Wage negotiable based on knowledge, skill and experience
· Extended benefits after a 3 month period
References are required.
