Bains Solar is expanding rapidly in Edmonton and we’re looking for reliable, detail-oriented Site Survey Technicians to support our growing residential solar division.
This is a per-job contract role ($100 per completed site survey) with consistent volume and long-term opportunity.
Role Overview
As a Site Survey Technician, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments to gather all required structural, electrical, and property data needed for solar design and permitting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site residential solar surveys
- Measure and document roof dimensions and layout
- Identify and document roof obstructions and shading factors
- Capture all required photo documentation including:
- Exterior home (front, corners, roof – drone shots preferred)
- Electrical systems (utility meter, breaker panel, main disconnect)
- Structural attic components (rafters, spacing, pitch, dimensions)
- Verify electrical panel specifications and capacity
- Collect and confirm project agreement details (name, address, system size, equipment)
- Document roof type (including metal seam/corrugation if applicable)
- Submit organized reports and photos in a timely manner
What You’ll Need
- Experience in solar, roofing, electrical, or home inspections (preferred)
- Ability to safely access roofs and attics
- Basic understanding of electrical panels and residential construction
- Strong attention to detail (this is critical)
- Reliable vehicle and ability to travel within Edmonton
- Smartphone (drone experience is a strong asset)
Compensation
- $100 per completed site survey
