Overview

Site Foreman / Working Site Supervisor Jobs in Lakeview at Leasehold Improvements Inc.

About Leasehold Improvements Inc.

Leasehold Improvements Inc. specializes in commercial maintenance, leasehold improvements, renovations, fit-outs, and smaller multi-unit construction projects across HRM and Atlantic Canada.

Our work ranges from commercial service calls and accessibility upgrades to office, retail, clinic, and multi-unit renovation projects. We are known for high standards, fast execution, and a professional client experience from first site walk to final close-out.

We run tight, we treat people right, and we deliver exactly what we said we would. Every time.

About the Role

We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Working Site Supervisor to join our team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, knows how to keep a job moving, and can lead a crew with clarity, accountability, and professionalism.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day execution of commercial renovation and construction projects, including coordinating trades, managing site logistics, maintaining safety and quality standards, and supporting the crew on the tools when needed.

This role is not for someone who simply “runs a site.” We’re looking for someone who leads from the front — part planner, part coach, part problem-solver, and part skilled carpenter.

You’ll help develop our carpenters and labourers, set clear expectations, teach best practices, and create site routines that improve productivity, cleanliness, quality, and overall job flow.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise daily site operations and ensure work progresses according to project schedules, drawings, specifications, and company standards
  • Lead and support commercial renovations, fit-outs, service work, accessibility upgrades, and smaller multi-unit construction projects
  • Perform hands-on carpentry work as required, including framing, backing, blocking, drywall support, finish carpentry, trim, doors, hardware, deficiencies, and critical path tasks
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, inspections, and internal team members to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Read and interpret drawings, details, scopes of work, specifications, and site instructions
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and inspection-ready job sites
  • Monitor work quality and ensure deficiencies are caught early, corrected properly, and not left until the end of the project
  • Communicate professionally with clients, project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and inspectors
  • Identify site issues early and work with the project team to solve problems before they impact schedule, cost, or quality
  • Complete site documentation, daily updates, photos, time tracking, safety forms, and other required paperwork using company systems
  • Support project budgets by managing labour efficiency, reducing rework, protecting materials, and keeping work aligned with approved scope
  • Mentor carpenters and labourers by providing direction, coaching, feedback, and support
  • Represent Leasehold Improvements Inc. professionally on every site

What You Bring

  • Red Seal Carpentry certification preferred
  • Proven experience in commercial carpentry, renovations, and construction
  • Experience leading crews, coordinating trades, or supervising construction sites
  • Strong knowledge of framing, drywall, doors, hardware, millwork coordination, finish carpentry, and general commercial construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, details, and specifications
  • Strong understanding of job site safety requirements and safe work practices
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills with clients, team members, subcontractors, and project managers
  • Ability to work independently, lead a crew, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • High standards for quality, cleanliness, reliability, and professionalism
  • Comfort using construction software, mobile apps, photos, and digital forms
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

How Success Will Be Measured

You’ll be successful in this role if:

  • Your jobs hit key milestones with few surprises
  • Projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the expected standard
  • Sites are clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready
  • Deficiencies and call-backs are reduced
  • Punch lists are tighter and easier to close out
  • Crews become more productive, independent, and consistent over time
  • Clients, project managers, and subcontractors trust the way your sites are run
