We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Paraprofessional to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 school setting. The ideal candidate will assist students in the classroom using American Sign Language (ASL) while collaborating with teachers and special education staff to ensure student success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Communicate using American Sign Language (ASL).
- Assist students with classroom activities and assignments.
- Support behavior management and student engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and special education staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Educational Interpreter certification or state-required certification (preferred if applicable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
