On behalf of our client Centura, The People People Inc. is recruiting for a full-time Showroom Consultant for their London location. Centura is a wholesale distributor of flooring and related products that was founded in 1961 and has grown to become one of Canada’s most formidable floor covering distribution companies.

The Showroom Consultant will collaborate with our customers in selecting products that meet their budgets, needs and styles. This individual will guide purchasers through the selection process explaining available features and finishes while providing expert advice and recommendation based upon in depth knowledge of Centura’s option availability. This role will participate in product merchandising and promotions and must always maintain a high level of customer service. The Showroom Consultant will be accountable for ensuring each purchaser’s selection process is seamless and efficient through the provision of excellent customer service.

*Applicants for this position must have availability for weekday shifts between 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday shifts from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Please do not apply for this position if you cannot meet this availability.

This person will play a vital role in the successful operation of Centura by bringing their passion for customer service, talent for design and enthusiasm to our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

Provide superior customer service through expert advice and recommendations of Centura’s product lines.

Collaborate with customers to understand their objectives, preferences, and budget constraints for their projects.

Create innovative and visually appealing design concepts for Centura’s showroom.

Present design concepts, proposals, and project updates to customers in a clear and compelling manner, addressing any feedback or concerns effectively.

Conduct regular showroom maintenance by keeping the design displays clean and current.

Assist in selection of products with Management and Purchasing.

Stay informed about industry trends, new products and best practices to innovate and improve design offerings for Centura customers.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the features, benefits, and specifications of various flooring products to effectively educate customers and address inquiries.

Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align showroom design initiatives with company sales objectives.

Assist the Samples, Order Desk and Warehouse teams when required.

Comply with all Centura company policies and procedures.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Centura Management.

Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in design or a related field preferred.

2+ years’ experience in an interior design related position.

Customer service or sales experience an asset.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal abilities.

Proficient in computer applications and using design software.

Strong creative vision and attention to detail.

Represent and promote Centura in a competent and professional manner.
