Shop Hand
In this entry level position, Shop Hand is essential to the execution of elementary tasks within a Ketek Shop. In a situation to observe and ask questions, this position is vital to the growth of the Manufacturing Team an important first step toward the employee’s growth and therefore the enhancement of Ketek’s employee base. Growth is dependent upon personal interest, inclinations and abilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Fabrication shop personnel as required
Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
Perform tool crib duties, inventory and general housekeeping throughout the shop
Determine the correct type of tools/equipment to be used for a specific task
Complete assigned tasks in a safe, efficient and timely manner
May be required to complete work tasks outside of the typical scope
Perform routine housekeeping duties
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic mechanical aptitude
Fluent in English language
Ability to use a 2-way radio
Able to work under pressure
Able to work independently
Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
May be required to work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
Physical Demand:
Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required
Use of Mechanic aids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required
Regular exposure to loud noises and metal particulars – hearing and respiratory protection is provided when needed
Exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, trip and slip hazards and blind spots
