Job Purpose
Reporting to the Intervention & Services Manager, the PAQ1 Coordinator takes the lead on delivering quality, culturally appropriate intervention services at this shelter for vulnerable Indigenous community members. The PAQ1 shelter is a “dry” shelter, providing a quieter environment with women’s and men’s dormitories, a community room with internet and television access, a hot dinner and breakfast, showers, and laundry facilities. The person in this role oversees the intervention team and has the overall responsibility for the quality of intervention, and to ensure participant and staff safety and security at the site, and compliance with all PAQ intervention protocols and procedures.
Schedule
Full time – 36 hours per week. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (10 am – 10 pm) – 3 x 12 hours
Part time 24 hours per week. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 3 x 8 hours
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise the front-line shelter intervention workers on the floor.
Provide intervention training, support and coaching to the shelter Intervention team.
Develop and update intervention tools (some on-line) for the team (role descriptions, station tasks, check lists, incident reports forms).
Ensure the intervention team has the skills and tools to successfully carry out their roles and recommend training when appropriate.
Produce the schedule for the Intervention team for day, evening, and overnight shifts. Ensure accurate and timely updates on the on-line scheduling platform for all hours worked by members of the intervention team.
Coordinate and track all performance-related matters for intervention workers and bring them to the attention of the Intervention Services Manager.
When requested by the Intervention Services Manager, provide support to intervention worker recruitment processes.
Provide oversight to the security and cleaning services while on site.
With the Intervention Services Manager, support the development of culturally appropriate policies and protocols that ensure the safety and well-being of staff and participants at the shelter.
Communicate and ensure compliance of policies and protocols.
Produce statistics and reports for the shelter.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge and understanding of the impact of intergenerational trauma and on-going realities in Indigenous communities, urban barriers, and Indigenous social issues.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a coordination position in intervention role, preferably within an Indigenous organization, and/or within the homelessness sector
Minimum 1 years’ experience in a team management or coordination role (mandatory).
Proficient in spoken and written French and English; knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset.
