Position Overview
EDL Building Solutions is looking for a Sheet Metal Journeyman who is wanting to grow their skills in a company that values hands-on expertise across all electrical and mechanical trades. We’re looking for a motivated individual with existing experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, or electrical, who is also eager to pursue an additional apprenticeship in one of these trades to work toward earning a second ticket. What You’ll Do
- Work on commercial HVAC and sheet metal projects.
- Review building plans and assist in ductwork layout, cutting, and installation.
- Help with fitting and securing piping and duct connections between HVAC units.
- Perform testing to ensure systems are properly sealed and functioning.
- Follow all municipal, provincial, and federal codes during installations and repairs.
- Use a range of tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work procedures.
- Maintain care of company tools, vehicles, and assets.
- Be open to travel for out-of-town jobs as needed.
What You Bring
- Journeyman certificate in Sheet Metal
- Required: Additional experience or comfort in plumbing or electrical work.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Willingness to take initiative and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
- Involves physical tasks including lifting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Must be able to work from heights and in awkward spaces when needed.
