About FRAFCA:

Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association is a leading provider of after-school, summer, and college programs for over 3,000 students in the Surrey, BC area. We are also a provider of transportation and special education services for over 300 students with disabilities in the Surrey, BC area.

Job Description:

Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association is looking for a Service Provider to provide support to our students, parents, and teachers in our schools. You will provide a range of activities to students, including activities to encourage physical activity, play, and learn from day to day. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing quality services and values the safety and well-being of our students.

Position Summary:

The Sexual Assault Response Services Provider will work the clients to offer services related to crisis response, safety planning, related information and support, referrals, community outreach and engagement.

The clients of the Program are persons of any age who are survivors of sexual assault, including historical sexual assault regardless of whether they have reported the sexual assault to the police or other authorities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

TheSexual Assault Response Services Provider (SARSP)job duties and responsibilities are:

1.Crisis Response.The FRAFCA SARSP will provide Crisis Response to Clients and will make efforts to do so within 72 hours of the Sexual Assault.

This response may include, as appropriate:

a) responding to hospital call-outs;

b) providing emotional support;

c) identifying and addressing the immediate emotional, safety, and logistical needs of the Client;

d) acting as a connector between the Client, emergency personnel, hospital personnel, and other victim support programs.

2.Information & Support:The FRAFCA SARSP will:

a) using a Trauma-Informed, client centered and, as needed, culturally appropriate approach, support the emotional and practical needs of Clients, and as appropriate, members of their family or support network, to assist Clients in addressing the impacts of sexual assault and trauma; and

b) support Clients, as needed, in accessing other resources and assistance in the community to address the immediate and post-incident impacts of sexual assault and trauma, including by:

providing information and assistance in navigating health and justice sector services (including hospital accompaniment and transportation, as needed);

providing information regarding next steps or actions to be undertaken by the police if the incident was reported;
