BUS 375 – Managing Information Systems
An overview of management and organizational issues surrounding the Information Systems/Information Technology function (IS/IT) and in its interaction with business functions within and between organizations. Topics will include: the evolution of the IS/IT functions, functional area systems, current trends, strategy, managing and acquiring IS resources and ethical issues surrounding IS/IT.

Position Summary:
The Hill Levene School of Business at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following in person course during the Fall 2026 semester.
BUS 375 – Managing Information Systems
An overview of management and organizational issues surrounding the Information Systems/Information Technology function (IS/IT) and in its interaction with business functions within and between organizations. Topics will include: the evolution of the IS/IT functions, functional area systems, current trends, strategy, managing and acquiring IS resources and ethical issues surrounding IS/IT.
The Fall semester class period is from September 1, 2026 to December 7, 2026 with the final exam period running from December 9 to 22, 2026. Maximum enrolment for this course is 68 and a Teacher Assistant may be provided if requested and available. Please note that receiving a TA is not guaranteed and applicants should be prepared to teach without a TA.
Sessional Lecturers that are teaching in person classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester in person on campus.
Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:
- Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades on time;
- Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines;
- Delivering 26 75-minutes lectures throughout the semester (unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean);
- Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment;
- Providing regular support to students on course work as required before and after each class, during office hours, and as required by students;
- Meeting all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill Levene School of Business;
- Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the course subject area (note that a bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional business experience may also be considered);
- Superior communication skills (both written and verbal);
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting; and
- Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment considered an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As Per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
This course is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach on campus for each of the 26 lectures, be in the classroom 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week
