. It is a high energy position which requires a winning can-do attitude. The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and enforcing architectural and technical standards across projects.
Reporting to the EVP of Operations and working closely with the VP of Technology, Software Development Leads and Chief Architect to contribute to the organization’s strategic direction. The Sr. Systems Engineer shall ensure the approach meets the highest level of safety and security while providing a valuable solution that is aligned to the needs of our customers (Airport and ANSP).
Responsibilities
Requirements
Management:
Use the proven best practices for systems engineering with a focus on ensuring that all system requirements are accurately captured, clearly defined, and thoroughly tested throughout the development process.
System Design:
Develop
system architecture
, design system components, and create system models to ensure that the overall system meets performance, cost, and reliability targets.
Integration:
Oversee the integration of different components, subsystems, or modules to form a cohesive system that functions as intended.
Verification and Validation:
Plan, execute, and evaluate the testing of the system to ensure it meets the defined requirements and performs as expected. This includes developing test plans, conducting tests, and analyzing test results.
Problem Solving
:
Troubleshoot and find root cause to solve
challenging
technical issues that junior team members cannot resolve due to their complexity. Implement corrective actions, processes, training or mentoring to improve team response to complex issues.
Configuration Management:
Manage and control changes to the system throughout its lifecycle, ensuring that the system remains consistent and well-documented.
Risk Management:
Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks associated with the system’s development, implementation, and operation.
Documentation:
Create and maintain thorough documentation for the system, including requirements, design, test plans, and user manuals, to facilitate
communication
and
collaboration
among team members and stakeholders.
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance and guidance to users, customers, and other stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
Collaboration
and
Leadership
:
Work closely with
cross-functional teams
and stakeholders within the organization, including product management, operations, sales, and marketing. Promote effective
collaboration
by encouraging team members to analyze problems collectively, challenge assumptions, explore different perspectives, and guide the team towards consensus-based decisions.
