Title: Senior Software Engineer, Product Engineering, Americas

Company: P2P

Location: Dundalk, Canada

Location: Dundalk

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile product engineer who builds reusable building blocks across the stack, takes ownership of large product areas, and ships features end‑to‑end. You will research competitors, write product specifications, design wireframes, and implement solutions.

Examples of Work Done by Product Engineers

  • Designed and built automated interview scheduling that calculates optimum times, presents them to candidates, and streamlines the hiring workflow.
  • Created a generalized declarative filter architecture that lets users build complex record filters with a consistent UI and compiles them to SQL on the backend.
  • Specced, designed, and delivered a fully internal signing‑offers feature, including customer research, prototype development, and integration across the platform.

Qualifications

  • You’re comfortable working on any part of the tech stack and deliver features whether that’s frontend, backend, or infrastructure.
  • You have tackled projects with significant product and technical ambiguity and thrive at the intersection of design and engineering.
  • You strike the right balance between speed and quality, delivering high‑standard products while moving with urgency.
  • You are ambitious, continuously improving skills, and open to feedback.
  • You collaborate and communicate clearly, vetting decisions with stakeholders and coordinating with teammates.
  • You pursue leverage: you automate tedious work, create reusable abstractions, and build tools for the team.

Considerations

  • You prefer a low‑structure environment; you do not rely on sprint planning or heavy process to drive projects.
  • You are comfortable focusing on the technical details of an implementation rather than high‑level architecture reviews.
  • Mentoring junior engineers is limited; the majority of the team is senior or above.

Engineering Culture

  • Minimal process—ownership of decisions normally handled by product and design.
  • Natural collaboration and deliberate communication.
  • Investments in tooling and abstractions to give the team leverage.
  • Emphasis on building a diverse team.

Interview Process

  • Introduction call with hiring manager (15–30 min).
  • Technical screen involving pair programming in the live codebase (1 h).
  • Three non‑coding interviews focused on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (3 h 15 min total). The rounds are live and can be split across days.

First Three Months

Day‑one onboarding includes a single‑script environment setup, first product change push, and peer pairing. Your manager will conduct 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day reviews to give feedback and calibrate progress.

Technology Stack

Type Script (frontend & backend), React, Graph

QL, Node.js, Postgres, Redis. Prior experience is not required; a love of typed languages is helpful.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Unlimited PTO and encouragement to take time off.
  • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave (longer outside the US as per regional requirements).
  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.
  • $100 month education budget; conferences covered with manager approval.
  • Top‑tier health insurance (US) or supplemental health insurance (other countries) fully covered.
