Position Summary

GDM-AE, Inc. is staffing for federal healthcare construction and design support work at active healthcare facilities in Palo Alto, CA.

The Healthcare Architect role calls for licensed architectural practice on hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and occupied medical facilities. Senior candidates bring 10+ years of architecture experience with substantial healthcare focus; Healthcare Architect candidates bring 5+ years with documented healthcare project work. This role provides design review, constructability coordination, and construction phase technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, design narratives, scopes, submittals, RFIs, and field conditions.
  • Support planning, programming, design review, constructability review, and construction phase issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, contractors, facility staff, users, and technical reviewers.
  • Identify code, accessibility, life safety, phasing, finish, constructability, and coordination issues.
  • Prepare review comments, technical recommendations, meeting notes, and documentation.
  • Support site walks, punch lists, closeout, and occupied healthcare facility coordination.

Qualifications

  • Senior Healthcare Architect: 10 or more years of architecture experience with at least 5 years on healthcare projects.
  • Healthcare Architect: 5 or more years of architecture experience with at least 3 years on healthcare projects.
  • Licensed Architect (active US license) required.
  • Healthcare project experience required: hospital, clinic, laboratory, or occupied healthcare facility work.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents and coordinating multidisciplinary design issues.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, life safety, IBC, NFPA, healthcare planning, and construction administration.
  • Revit proficiency preferred.
  • Federal healthcare project experience preferred.

Federal Contract Requirements

  • Some local travel within the Palo Alto service area is part of normal duties.
  • Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment.
  • Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Employees represent themselves as contracted personnel, not federal employees, and do not perform inherently governmental functions.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $120,000-$170,000

  • Monthly certification pay for additional licensing (PMP, LEED AP, BCxA, etc.)
