Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Estimator  Senior Estimator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as preparing cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and specifications, collaborating with project managers and subcontractors, and ensuring accurate pricing and timelines. This role is primarily based in Vaughan, ON but allows for

flexibility

to work partially remotely.

Qualifications Strong analytical and

problem-solving

skills8+ years Commercial Construction Estimating experience

Experience in cost estimation and analyzing blueprints and specifications

Excellent verbal and written

communication skills

Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of local building codes and regulations

Ability to

work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects

Attention to detail

and accuracy

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

Gold Seal or PMP certification is a plus

Responsibilities

· Participate in site walk throughs; gather and record relevant information

· Prepare takeoffs from drawing documents to support estimating

· Assist in trade relations and trade invites for tenders

· Support the evaluation of trade proposals

· Assist in the detailed preparation of cost estimates

· Log the necessary information in the company’s ERP, Construct Connect, Salesforce and Share Point

· Organize and log the necessary documentation required for bidding and later for handoff to the Project Delivery team upon project being awarded

· Prepare preliminary project schedules (MS Projects)

· Produce quick budgets to support early business development efforts

· Monitor bid sites for project opportunities as required based on specific market segments or clients Here’s what you need to know about the Jancon team:
