What
is the opportunity?
This Senior Director role plays an important role in managing the suite of Home Equity Finance (HEF) products, manages key vendor relationships and is focused on operational excellence to maximize client and advisor experience. The incumbent will lead a team responsible for managing products, develop product and program strategies and tactics that will increase the overall portfolio profitability through new and enhanced client value propositions, and enhancements to product processes and systems;
and manage and monitor HEF risk appetite. This person will also lead a team that is responsible for managing key vendor relationships across Appraisal Management, Mortgage Insurance, and Title Registration as well as business operations including service levels and performance, outages and client/advisor escalations.
What will you do? Leadership
- Leverage and personally demonstrate RBC Blueprint to engage, empower and develop a team that can deliver against key imperatives.
- Promote use of AI across the team to drive change, efficiency and reduce time spent on non-value added tasks.
- Ability to partner very effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders inclusive but not limited to: the other HEF leaders (Acquisition, Pricing, Policy, Strategy, Transformation, etc.), GRM, Operations (Adjudication and Fulfillment), PMCS & Marketing.
- In addition, this role will often interact with third party vendors, the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA) and Regulators.
Product Management and Development
- Deep focus on innovation to design new product strategies to anticipate changes in industry, and client needs to maximize growth of the mortgage portfolio.
- Leverage the power of AI to design and implement updates to current products end to end design and efficiency
- Develop and execute a plan where opportunities emerge to improve product performance relative to competitors and designed to meet client expectations that is aligned to Personal Banking long term strategy.
- Oversee the day to day management of the product inclusive of overseeing product profitability performance, operational effectiveness and risk performance.
Vendor Management and Operations Excellence
- Lead teams that are responsible for managing key vendor relationships across Appraisal Management, Mortgage Insurance, and Title Registration as well as business operations including service levels and performance, outages and client/advisor escalations
- Minimize friction in the end to end client journey by providing oversight of Vendor, Sales and Operations turnaround times and driving optimization of operational processes
- Optimize vendor ecosystem including minimizing the cost to acquire and renew mortgages
- Lead business casing as it pertains to vendor contracts and relevant strategic initiatives
- Leadership with respect to contract negotiations and vendor risk assessments in partnership with Procurement, Third Party Risk, Legal, etc.

- University degree or extensive related work experience
