Overview

About the Team:
Turo is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team in Canada. You will be the technical lead for our BI ecosystem, responsible for both the day‑to‑day administration of our tools and the long‑term vision of how we scale our data platforms. This is a role for a technical builder who cares about the “why” and the “how.”

You’ll combine advanced SQL and coding skills with a sharp eye for design to make sure our data isn’t just accurate, but easy and intuitive for everyone at Turo to use.

Responsibilities

  • Own the BI Stack: lead administration for Domo and Tableau, manage the backend and shape the roadmap for tool evolution.
  • Build Advanced Solutions: use advanced BI features and custom code (HTML/CSS/JS) to create sophisticated dashboards that connect data from dozens of different sources.
  • Innovate with AI: find practical ways to use AI to speed up development, automate repetitive tasks, and solve complex data problems.
  • Automate Everything: manage and scale our ETL pipelines using Airflow and Jenkins, ensuring our codebase is version‑controlled in Git Hub.
  • Foster a Data Community: lead user trainings, share updates via Slack, and act as a go‑to mentor for analysts across the company.
  • Design for the User: act as a “creative critic” for our visualizations to ensure everything we ship meets a high bar for design, clarity, and user experience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a business intelligence or data analytics role, preferably at a high‑growth tech or marketplace company.
  • Proven end‑to‑end responsibility for BI projects, from data ingestion to final visualization with minimal oversight.
  • Experience administering Domo and Tableau and managing tool roadmaps.
  • Direct experience connecting, cleaning, and harmonizing data from many sources into a unified BI layer.
  • Experience with ETL automation tools (Airflow, Jenkins) and maintaining production codebases on Git Hub.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong background in Python and Java; ability to use HTML and CSS for dashboard customization.
  • High attention to detail with a deep care for user experience of data.
  • Excellent communication and training skills; comfortable leading user trainings and fostering engagement.
  • Curiosity and proactive use of AI to accelerate development and automate workflows.
