Our client is a multinational leader in the renewable energy industry. They are looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join their team!
About the Opportunity
- Support the Finance function by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing detailed financial information, providing accurate and timely insights to support operational and managerial decision‑making across multiple projects and legal entities.
- Perform in‑depth project accounting, including revenue tracking and analysis by contract or initiative, ensuring financial performance is properly monitored and variances are clearly explained.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS for multiple Canadian business units or entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established accounting policies.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional and on‑site operational teams to assess financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving profitability under existing contractual arrangements.
- Lead and execute complex financial analyses independently, act as a subject‑matter resource for the broader accounting team, and contribute to the implementation of new accounting standards and improvements to financial processes.
- Utilize financial systems and tools effectively, including SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), to support reporting, analysis, and communication requirements.
- Bring a strong professional foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration, or a related field, a recognized CPA designation (CPA, CA/CPA, CMA/CPA, or CGA), a minimum of five years of relevant experience, and demonstrated strengths in autonomy, attention to detail, communication, and priority management.
About You
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) to effectively operate in a French‑speaking work environment.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility and technical depth.
- Strong experience with IFRS, with a particular focus on Revenue Recognition.
- Experience in project accounting, including financial tracking and performance analysis at the project or contract level.
- CPA designation (Canadian or international) is preferred.
- Renewable energy industry experience, particularly wind and/or solar, is preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP FI is a plus.
