Seed Mixing & Warehouse Technician Jobs in Ballantine, MT at North 40 Ag
This position is the crucial link that keeps our business moving forward. As a warehouse hand, you will become an expert in efficiently mixing various seeds together to create custom-blended cover crop mixes. The ideal candidate must be hard working, self-motivated, have an eye for detail, energetic, and a problem-solver. You will be responsible for getting seed mixes from concepts to physical entities ready to head on to their next opportunity of sprouting. North 40 Ag is a growing business in Ballantine, Montana (just 30 minutes east of
Billings). We have an energetic work environment where we have fun, but we are still good at getting a lot done and checked off the list.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Help maintain inventory
- Weigh, mix, and bag orders
- Facilitate shipping seed mixes or order pickup
- Complete quality control programs to guarantee customers order is correct, i.e./completed, correct seed tag, order tracking, documented weights, etc.
- Follow safety program
- Maintain all equipment/assisting with getting it operational when it is down.
- Actively communicate with team
Best Candidates Will Have:
- Mechanical abilities. From tractor to forklift to conveyer, you will come in contact with and be responsible for a multitude of equipment. Coupled with your problem-solving skills everything will stay in tip-top operational shape.
- Physical Stamina. You will have to lift 50 lb bags of seed or other items multiple times a day in multiple weather situations.
- Highly organized and detailed. You are tracking seed across the warehouse so a keen skill of knowing where it is to effectively mix is necessary.
- A result driven mentality. You will be the one assisting in the production for seed from start to finish to provide our customers with the best possible product.
- Problem Solver. You love a challenge, and don’t give up easily. When something arises, you give it your all and use your judgement to come up with a solution.
- Initiative. When one project is complete you already have your eye on something else that needs your attention.
