Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, and entrances, to ensure safety and security.
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity immediately to appropriate authorities.
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, allowing access only to authorized individuals.
- Act quickly in emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats; assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
- Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff; provide directions and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and conduct interactions calmly and professionally.
- Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately and complete incident reports.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to coordinate security efforts and ensure safety.
- Enforce hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, addressing violations in a manner that upholds safety standards.
Prerequisites
- Valid security license for the province of Ontario.
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C from a WSIB‑approved vendor.
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two‑step TB skin test.
- English fluency (oral and written) is required.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). Applicants lacking these certifications may opt into Paladin’s UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding, with costs covered by Paladin and a six‑month commitment to the position.
