Full job description
Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to work in Cambridge, ON.
Preference will be given to those who have access to their own personal vehicle as there is no bus service to the site.
Shifts:
Sunday to Wednesday from 10 pm to 8 am
40 hours per week
Friday and Saturday off
Night shift
Responsibilities:
Diligent logging of contractors and trucks that enter and depart the facility.
Regular interior and exterior foot patrols of the property. This is approximately 1 hour in length and includes at least 1 flight of stairs.
Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
Access control for the facility/area.
Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
Skills:
Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
Integrity and professionalism.
Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
