Security Guard (Full Time Contract) Jobs in Cambridge at Barber Collins Security services Ltd.
Barber Collins Security is looking for a full time Security Guard to cover a leave for 12 + months at a clients facility in Cambridge, ON.
Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be preferred.
Shifts*
*Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation
Week 1 (40 hours): Friday 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 am to 2:30pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Week 2 (40 hours): Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Every other weekend
Mostly evening with two morning shifts
Full time hours (40 hours per week)
Coverage for a leave
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular foot patrols of the property.
Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
High volume access control for the facility/area.
Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
Skills:
Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
Integrity and professionalism.
Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
