Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Seamstress/shirt maker to join our team. As a Seamstress, you will become part of our team responsible for making custom shirts for our customers as well as performing alteration tasks on suits. You will be working from our second floor atelier in a spacious and comfortable setting, in the heart of downtown Montreal. We are looking for a dynamic individual who’s willing to learn the craft, but with an existing strong base of knowledge and experience with textiles and sewing. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate should be a quick learner, a team player with a positive attitude and a will to always improve and perfect their craft in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
– Sew shirts according to customer specifications, using industrial plain sewing machines.
– Perform alterations, corrections and touchups on existing garments.
– Draw, measure and cut collar and cuff canvasses.
– Ensure quality control by inspecting each finished garment for any defects or errors
– Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
– Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a Seamstress or similar role
– Proficient in using plain industrial sewing machines, other machines is a bonus.
– Ability to sew by hand labels, buttons, buttonholes, seams, monograms are not essential but something we would consider.
– Intermediate to strong knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types
– Extreme attention to detail and precision in sewing, measuring, trimming, etc.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, sometimes working with tight deadlines.
– Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
