Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons that cater to a diverse range of learners, incorporating practical experiments and real-world applications.

Utilise a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote deep understanding of scientific principles across biology, chemistry, and physics.

Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support their growth and development.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and extracurricular activities that enhance students’ scientific literacy and critical thinking skills.

Participate in departmental meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practice and contribute to the school community.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in a relevant scientific discipline.

Proven experience teaching science at the secondary level, with a demonstrable track record of student achievement and engagement.

Strong subject knowledge across biology, chemistry, and physics, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to students of varying abilities.

Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular involvement and professional development activities.
