Duties

Conducts scientific analysis and investigations for diagnostic and testing purposes.

Contributes to the development and validation of new analytical methods and laboratory practices.

Collects, analyses and interprets data for, and authorizes results to CFIA employees, other government organizations and private sector organizations.

Produces scientific data, reports and information on laboratory methods and practices and aids in the preparation and/or delivery of results in the form of presentations, reports, and/or papers to colleagues, management and/or clients.

Provides technical and procedural guidance and troubleshooting to CFIA laboratory staff or labs conducting tests on behalf of CFIA related to testing methods, procedures, and the requirements of

quality assurance

or accreditation.

Contributes to project teams, working groups or committees related to their subject matter expertise within CFIA to advance the work of the unit or the Section.
