Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses and other authorized vehicles, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Pick up and drop off students at designated locations on time, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor with students, parents, school staff, and the community.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness.
- Manage student behavior on the bus using positive behavior management techniques.
- Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and emergency responders as needed.
- Keep accurate records of routes, incidents, and vehicle maintenance checks.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL); school bus and passenger endorsement preferred.
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving; experience working with children or in childcare is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for diverse communities.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and basic mechanical maintenance of vehicles.
- Ability to manage student behavior positively and effectively in a school transportation setting.
- Physical ability to sit for long periods, perform vehicle inspections, and assist students if necessary.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in previous roles involving driving or customer service.

Position is part-time with an option for full-time employment. Full-time employment would be a School Bus Driver and Classroom Aide. Rates differ by position.
