Position Overview

In this full-time seasonal position as a scale operator your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to maintaining the day-to-day operations and administrative duties associated with the operation of the truck scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing operating sequences to receive and exit vehicles through incoming and outgoing scale.

• Issues receipts/BOL’s to vehicle drivers and collect tickets.

• Maintaining a controlled environment in the scale house to ensure proper operation of the computerized scale system.

• Assisting drivers on where to go once they scale into the facility.

• Troubleshooting issues with JDE.

• Assists in performing key starting instructions on command printer as necessary.

• Testing samples for quality control as required.

• Answers the phone, records messages, and provides routine information.

• Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word documents, outlook calendars, e-mails, and database software in performing work assignments.

• Responsible for the shipping and receiving of courier packages incoming and outgoing from the facility.

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and tickets

• Direct vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility

• Answer phone calls and provide routine information

• Use MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)

• Support shipping/receiving by entering product information

• Perform other operational tasks as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum High School/College Diploma.

• Experience with weight scales is an asset.

• Strong Administrative and Organizational skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Computer literate.

• Ability to communicate effectively with drivers and staff.
