YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Attend a 42-day training (3 rotations) program at the Meliadine mine site;
Process Plant Trainee will learn during the training program how to :
Perform specific tasks such as cleaning (areas/equipment), lock-out/tag-out, and supporting the maintenance team when required;
o Perform daily crushing work, such as inspecting, greasing and operating the crushers and rock breakers;
o Ensure that conveyors, compressors, dust collectors and screens are clear and in good condition, taking action if anomalies are detected;
o Fill reports relating to the work area;
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
The employee must succeed all parts of the training to graduate;
Employees must respect AEM’s policies before and during the program.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and be deemed fit to work;
Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
Possess strong work ethics, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
Successfully complete a literacy and numeracy skill assessment;
Those who successfully complete the program will be hired as full-time permanent Agnico Eagle employees with the Process Plant Department.
Position is reserved for Inuit Beneficiary candidates.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site from Kivallliq Communities, Mirabel & Val d’Or.
