JOB PURPOSE

The Electrician is responsible for electrical work at the journeyman level.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as an Electrician.
• Must have two years of experience.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrician is responsible for:

• Troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, testing and modifying electrical components of building systems
• Performing both demand and preventative maintenance on electrical components of building systems
• Performing the electrical aspects of new construction, installation and renovations for medical and non-medical systems
• Maintaining the fire alarm system
• Installing and maintaining phone and data systems
• Designing control systems and wiring schematics
• Keeping and maintaining records and documentation
• Organizing and coordinating work
