Safety Coordinator
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety professional to join our growing transportation team. This position plays a key role in supporting driver compliance, Hours of Service monitoring, driver coaching, and overall fleet safety operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with DOT compliance, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and driver communication in a fast-paced trucking environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor and audit driver Hours of Service logs for DOT compliance
- Review and address ELD/log violations and alerts
- Troubleshooting device issues
- Monitor driver safety alerts and assist with follow-up actions
- Assist with truck and trailer inspections and compliance tracking
- Conduct driver coaching and follow-up communication
- Monitor assigned driver coaching videos and ensure completion
- Provide support and backup for:
- New driver orientation
- Driver safety meetings
- Communicate with drivers and operations regarding compliance issues and corrective actions
- Assist with maintaining driver qualification and safety records
- Support daily Safety Department operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous trucking safety, dispatch, or DOT compliance experience preferred
- Strong understanding of FMCSA Hours of Service regulations
- Experience with ELD systems such as Peoplenet, Trimble, or similar platforms preferred
- Ability to communicate professionally with drivers and operations personnel
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
Preferred Experience
- Driver coaching and safety training
- Log auditing and compliance monitoring
- DOT inspections and roadside violation review
- Transportation or fleet safety environment
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
