We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician to join our team, specializing in the repair and maintenance of high-precision vacuum pumps and rotating equipment.
This role offers a dynamic split between shop-based refurbishment and field service, providing a mix of technical shop work and direct customer interaction.
The Split:
• Workshop Focus (70%):
Primary refurbishments and assessments conducted at our facility.
• Field Travel (30%):
Travel between Vancouver and Kelowna to respond to service calls and perform on-site repairs.

Hours:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Compensation & Perks
• Salary: $30 – $40/hr (Based on experience and certification).
• Travel Support:
Company vehicle provided for travel plus gas reimbursement.

Main Responsibilities
Repairs & Maintenance (80%)
• Assessment:
Evaluate equipment, diagnose issues, and determine parts/labor estimates for supervisor approval.
• Refurbishment:
Dismantle, clean, and reassemble vacuum pumps, ensuring adjustments meet strict tolerances.
• Field Service:
Respond to service calls, propose technical solutions, and identify replacement parts.
• Quality Control:
Perform functional testing, record results, and adhere to ISO quality standards.
• Technical Equipment:
Utilize specialized tools including sandblasting systems, industrial washing machines, and machine tools.
• Customer Interaction:
Confirm work with clients and secure required documentation.
Support & Collaboration (20%)
• Assist fellow technicians and complete related tasks as requested.
• Maintain availability for occasional urgent or external service calls.

Job Requirements
•
Experience:
3-5 years of experience (ideally in pump repair) and experience with rotating equipment.
• Technical Precision:
Proven ability to work with tight tolerances.
•
Education:
DVS or equivalent in industrial mechanical or electromechanical fields.
• Certification:
Red Seal Millwright certificate is strongly preferred.
• Service Background:
Experience in external customer service or field repair is an asset.
• Mindset:
Strong analytical skills, autonomy, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
