Full job description
Alamos Gold’sIsland Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life. Primary Responsibilities:
Grade ramp and keep roadway in good condition.
Operate scoop to remove oversize chunks off the ramp and clean up snowbanks
Operate scoop to spread roadbed in the ramp to repair potholes
Clean safety bays operating a backhoe
Maintain, repair and advance the water sprays
Operate water truck as required
Muck Sumps when required
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 education preferred
Must have basic Underground modules completed and 1-year experience working underground
Relevant speciality Underground common core modules preferred
Minimum 1 year experience operating a scoop
Experience operating a haul truck preferred
Strong organizational skills with a priority for safety
Able to follow directions with minimal supervision
Adaptable to changing priorities
