Partnering closely with our Risk Control Manager, you’ll conduct inspections, develop insightful reports, and play a vital role in creating safer, more resilient operations for our clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts loss prevention inspections and prepare & distributes accurate findings in accordance with established inspection schedule.
  • Provides recommendations for compliance in accordance with applicable National Fire Prevention Association (NPFA) Standards, Uniform Building Codes, Occupation Safety & Health Association (OSHA) Standards and applicable local fire codes; recommendations should consider feasibility of the compliance in a manner which is clear to the client and which takes the clients’ interests into account.
  • Collects and analyzes relevant accident data and provide site or program specific action plans to the client.
  • Assists the claims department with field visits on any serious or catastrophic claim.
  • Assists in the determination of property values through Marshall and Smith Valuation Services to determine insurable property values.
  • Reviews outside reports (boiler, elevator, premise inspections) for quality and clarity.
  • Develops effective programs to help reduce frequency and severity of accidents, presents the plans to the client, and works with the client to implement such plans.
  • Interprets reference manuals (i.e. OSHA regulations, NFPA manuals, Building Codes, etc.).
  • Provides corrective plans to deal with hazards noted in survey to meet NFPA, OSHA, Building Codes or Fire Code Standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required: None
  • Computer skills required: None
  • Other skills required:
  • (Preferred) Bachelor’s Degree. Additional studies and designations in ARM, ALCM, OSHA, CPCU and/or CSP.
  • Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts, and work in outdoor weather conditions. Site inspections may involve physically challenging and hazardous conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, customers, and professionals.
  • Should have basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft programs: Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating procedures, manuals, and standards.
  • Needs to be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Should be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • This position requires frequent overnight travel. Approximately 50% of the time.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
