Position:  Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) – Chief Executive Officer

Established in 2016, the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) is the regulator mandated by the Government of Ontario to enforce the province’s circular economy laws. RPRA receives its authority under the Waste Free Ontario Act, 2016 and associated regulations. Under the legislation, RPRA is accountable to the Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for all aspects of the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority’s mandate and, along with the Registrar, is the public face of RPRA.

The CEO will ensure strategic and annual plans are effectively implemented, results are monitored and reported to the Board of Directors and that financial and operational objectives are attained.

The CEO will ensure a strong and

collaborative

relationship with the Government of Ontario, and will maintain and foster strong relationships with RPRA stakeholders including, Ontario’s municipalities, producers, and service providers. A seasoned strategic leader, you possess a keen interest in environmental issues.

You understand the impacts that regulations have on businesses and the economy and the importance of minimizing regulatory burden in achieving regulatory outcomes. Straightforward and open in your professional interactions with the Board, staff, stakeholders and the public, you ensure transparency and open

communication

at all levels. You know how to inspire and lead a highly

diverse team

with a strong commitment to the RPRA  addition to your understanding of organizational structure, process and market impacts of government policy, you bring 10+ years of proven and progressive operational and executive experience in a public sector organization, regulatory or related environment.

Knowledge of the circular economy or regulatory frameworks is considered an asset. Extensive experience in developing, mentoring, and leading the performance of a senior team is required. With RPRA, you will have the chance to build partnerships, work with sophisticated stakeholders and give back to the community, the province, and the planet.
