Position: Resort Services Receptionist (Kelowna Office)

Reports to: Resort Ticket Services Manager

Employment: Full-time, Year round

Compensation: $21.00/hr. Benefits/pension available

Job Description:

The Resort Services Receptionist is the first point of contact for many of our customers and partners, as such it is expected to professionally represent the Big White brand in all daily tasks. As the Resort Services Receptionist you will be responsible for the sale and processing of seasons passes, gift cards and lift ticket sales at the Big White corporate office in Kelowna. You will also serve as a primary source for providing general information to our guests via email, web chat, phone or in person; as well as directing internal calls. The Resort Services Receptionist is also in charge of shipping and receiving for the company.

You will need to demonstrate impeccable customer service and communication skills as well as be ready to “go the extra mile” to ensure that every guest experience with our office is a pleasant, calm and informative.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sell lift tickets and assist with online purchases
Sell and process seasons passes, including staff and volunteer seasons passes
Offer email, phone and chat support to those purchasing online
Address guest inquires via email, web chat, phone and in-person
Provide general information on facilities and activities available at Big White
Prepare bank deposits
Filing and general administrative tasks
Management of incoming/outgoing mail, packages and deliveries
Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
Assist other departments on occasion

Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outgoing and friendly personality with a commitment to exceed guest expectations
Experienced at payment processing and an aptitude to learn new systems
Ability to multitask and complete a varied number of tasks in a day
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
Ability to work well within a diverse team environment
Proven self-motivation and ability to work well with minimum supervision
Ability to work in all-weather conditions on occasion
Tourism/Hospitality experience is an asset
Microsoft Office proficiency is an asset
Valid driver’s license is an asset

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit and/or stand for the duration of the shift
Ability to lift and carry up to 25kg
Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill duties
Requires grasping, using tools, writing, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity
