Residential Aide
Full Time (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, hours 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: 1351 Olean Portville Rd; PO Box 229, Weston Mills, NY 14788
Driver’s License Required
Under the supervision of the Program Director (or designee), the Residential Engagement Aide supports the daily operation of the residence while promoting client engagement, safety, recovery, and independent living skills. This role provides supervision, facilitates therapeutic and recreational activities, assists with resident care, and helps maintain a safe, structured, recovery-oriented environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise residents and maintain a safe, supportive residential environment.
- Model positive communication, coping, and problem-solving skills.
- Assist residents with daily living skills, chores, admissions, and orientation.
- De-escalate conflicts and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Conduct room and property searches, urine screens, and other required monitoring.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate structured therapeutic and recreational activities.
- Encourage resident participation and support community integration through transportation and outings.
- Complete required documentation, including shift logs, incident reports, attendance, and medication records.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OASAS regulations, and agency policies.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary care planning.
- Assist with activity calendars, supplies, and other program operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- One to two years of experience in residential, behavioral health, or substance use treatment preferred.
- Knowledge of substance use recovery principles and crisis intervention techniques.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to respond effectively during crisis situations.
- Ability to operate a computer and agency vehicle.
Work Environment
Residential treatment setting with frequent client interaction. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment while maintaining professionalism and safety.

Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
