The Job
Surge is currently accepting applications for a Contract Reservoir Engineering Specialist; this opportunity is anticipated to start with a 6-month term with the possibility of extension. The Reservoir Engineering Specialist will report directly to the Director, Development Engineering and will work as a key member of the technical asset teams. This position will be responsible for development and optimizing existing oil assets and identifying new oil resource opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Water flood modelling andoptimizationusing Streamsim software for a variety of assets in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
Compile and present quarterly updates on Surge’s water floods
Miscellaneous Reservoir Engineering projects to support Area Development Engineers
Assist Business Development group with water flood evaluations as required
Qualifications:
Professional Engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience
A background in reservoir engineering with emphasis on primary oil development, water flood, and EOR
Strong computing skills with software such as Streamsim, Spotfire, Power BI, Val Nav, Geo Scout, Verdazo, and MS Office
Experience with reservoir modelling software would be considered an asset
