The Role
In this 100% remote role, you will work one-on-one with students to bridge gaps in mathematical understanding. We are expanding our faculty to support a full spectrum of learners—ranging from foundational numeracy and elementary math (Grade 3+) to advanced high school calculus, vectors, and university-level preparation.
What You Will Do
- Tailored Instruction: Deliver 1-on-1 math lessons adapted to the specific learning style, grade level, and academic pace of each student.
- Curriculum Mastery: Teach concepts aligned with the Ontario Curriculum, ranging from primary school fundamentals (Grades 3–8) to Grade 12 Advanced Functions, Calculus, and Data Management.
- Digital Engagement: Use digital tools (Zoom, Interactive Whiteboards, Graphing Software) to create a lively and stimulating virtual classroom where complex problems become clear.
- Student Impact: Create comprehensive lesson materials and provide detailed feedback to improve problem-solving skills, grades, and student confidence.
Who You Are
- Educated: A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Education, or a closely related field is required.
- Experienced: Proven experience teaching or tutoring Mathematics. Candidates must be comfortable working across various age groups (Grade 3 through Grade 12). Familiarity with the Ontario Curriculum is highly preferred.
- Engaging: You must be energetic on camera! We need tutors who can make math approachable and keep students motivated through a screen.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in online teaching platforms and able to troubleshoot basic technical issues independently.
- Flexible: Ability to accommodate student needs (evenings and/or weekends are often required).
