As a Relationship Officer, you will implement a proactive approach to sales and business development by cultivating a strong working relationship with existing and potential members. Our members rely on your knowledge, experience in banking, and genuine desire to shape their financial fitness.
More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Providing advice and tailored solutions to our members to meet their financial needs
Proactively building relationships with existing and future members
Underwriting small to mid-sized business loans, recommending rates within discretionary limits, approving loans within authorized lending limits and recommending to credit committee loan requests above those limits
Staying up to date on lending and deposit services, products, policies, and legislation
Maximizing our existing portfolio including loan and deposit growth
Managing renewal applications and preparing reports to the direct managers and team leads
Evaluating requests on the basis of policy, risk, and profitability
Participating in internal and external meetings to better serve our members
RequirementsTo qualify, you will need at least the following:
2-5 years of progressive experience
Demonstrated basic ability in most facets of credit granting and sales of Business Banking products over a two to five year period
Basic business development skills, analytical abilities and a basic knowledge of portfolio management
Experience working and developing relationships with members, potential members, influential community people and staff is preferred
Undergraduate degree in business (or relevant field) or sufficient experience in lieu of education
