POSITION: Registered Respiratory Therapist
UNIT: Home Oxygen
STATUS: Regular Part Time
SALARY: $37.24 – $51.73
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Respiratory Home Services is owned, and operated by the Hospital and is both a Home Oxygen Program (HOP) and Assistive Devices Program (ADP) registered vendor. This program provides a wide range of services and resources including:
Home Oxygen assessments, equipment and education
CPAP Therapy equipment and education
Suction equipment and tracheostomy supplies
Respiratory medication compressors and spacers
Sleep solutions
Oxygen Therapy
Other Services
The RRT provides excellent patient care both in the community and from hospital to home.
HOURS:
Must be available for all tours applicable to the department/unit, and other tours as assigned by the hospital. In addition, the successful candidate must be willing to participate in the departmental on-call rotation as well as meet all non-availability requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Post-secondary diploma/degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
Preference will be given to those with a minimum of one (1) year previous community respiratory experience
Previous CPAP Clinic experience would be considered an asset
Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract and access to a vehicle required
Current BLS Certification required
Current ACLS Certification preferred
Demonstrates strong problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking
Highly team and customer-focused
Ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all clients, patients, families, staff and volunteers
Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative
Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Power Chart, etc.
Ability to adapt to changes in assignments throughout a shift, follow instructions and conduct yourself professionally.
Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
Evidence of ongoing commitment to continuing education
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
Excellent attendance record as per the STEGH Attendance at Work Policy
Successful candidates must provide evidence of having receiveda full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada, and having received the final dose 14 days before entering STEGH.
