Bayshore is looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Nutritionist to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert nutritional guidance to clients, helping them achieve their health and wellness goals. You will work with individuals and groups to develop personalized nutrition plans, promote healthy eating habits, and educate clients on the benefits of proper nutrition.


Person-and family-centered care (PFCC)

Person-and family-centered care (PFCC) is an approach to care that recognizes the importance of family in a patient’s life and the importance of their active involvement in planning and making decisions on health care, services and treatment, and health system reform. This approach to care provides respectful, compassionate, culturally safe, and responsive care that meets the needs, values, beliefs, and preferences of the patient, their family, and others identified as significant to their life from diverse backgrounds and settings.


Casual position available:
Requires at least 5-8 hours of weekday/daytime availability per week, with approx. 5-10 visits per week


Location:
Barrie and surrounding areas


Community based position, pay per visit and mileage in-between clients


Responsibilities
:


  • Nutritional Assessment
    : Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments to understand clients’ dietary needs and health goals.

  • Personalized Plans
    : Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans based on clients’ health status, preferences, and lifestyle.

  • Education and Counseling
    : Provide education and counseling on healthy eating habits, food choices, and lifestyle changes to promote overall well-being.

  • Monitoring and Support
    : Monitor clients’ progress and provide ongoing support and adjustments to their nutrition plans as needed.

  • Workshops and Seminars
    : Conduct workshops and seminars on various nutrition-related topics to educate the community.

  • Collaboration
    : Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to clients’ health and wellness.

  • Documentation
    : Maintain accurate and confidential records of clients’ assessments, plans, and progress.

Qualifications
:


Education
:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition or a related field, such as food and nutrition science
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) in good standing with the college


Experience and Attributes
:

  • At leas one year of experience, preferable in a community environment
  • Strong knowledge of nutritional science and dietary guidelines.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills. French language consider an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary health team.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to produce a clear criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Reliable transportation
