Gateway Mechanical has an exciting opportunity for a Refrigeration/HVAC Journeyman (Journeyperson)!

TheRefrigeration/HVAC Journeyman (Journeyperson)is responsible for providing installation, preventive maintenance, service, and repair on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in a commercial and industrial setting while show casing exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

Servicing new and existing accounts by analyzing work orders, investigating complaints, identifying solutions, conducting tests, and resolving problems;

Troubleshooting issues with all commercial and industrial HVAC / Refrigeration equipment;

Installing or retrofitting equipment as per specifications, customer requests, blueprints or the current building / plumbing codes;

Inspecting product quality and installation to ensure conformance andcustomer satisfaction;

Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments;

Lift up to 50 lbs;

Perform work using hand and power tools in a safe manner;

Read and interpret blueprints, basic spec, and shop drawing interpretation considered an asset;

Maintain clean and operable equipment, vehicle, and work areas at all time;

Maintenance and service of plumbing equipment such as pumps, boilers, and backflows.

Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.

Experience & Qualifications:

Red Seal certification required;

HVAC experience required;

Experience working in supermarkets an asset;

Experience working with gas is an asset;

Valid class 5 driver’s license and current driver’s abstract;

Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, Cross Connection Control, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS,AWP, and H2S Alive considered an asset.
