ABOUT THIS ROLE
Avenge Energy Services is looking for a hands-on Recruiter / HR Coordinator to support our growing team. This is a fully in-office position based out Avenge’s Fort Saskatchewan industrial facility, with regular travel between our Fort Saskatchewan and Nisku locations as operational needs require.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced, field-driven environment. This position reports to the HR Manager, located in Calgary, and requires occasional travel with Alberta.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Hiring
- Support full-cycle recruitment for field and shop roles (operators, labourers, drivers, etc.)
- Post job ads, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Conduct initial phone screens and reference checks
- Maintain candidate pipelines and track recruitment activity
- Support hiring managers in making timely, well-informed hiring decisions
Onboarding & Orientation
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding for new hires at Avenge’s Fort Saskatchewan and Nisku locations.
- Ensure completion of employment documentation, payroll forms, and compliance requirements
- Schedule and track pre-employment requirements (drug & alcohol testing, tickets, etc.)
- Partner with Safety and Operations to ensure positive employee onboarding experience
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and shared systems
- Draft offer letters, employment agreements, and employee communications
- Assist with benefits enrollment and respond to general employee inquiries
- Track employee documentation, certifications, and expiry dates
- Support audits and help ensure compliance with company policies and Alberta employment standards
Operational Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and supervisors on basic HR-related questions
- Assist with workforce coordination and onboarding scheduling between branches
- Support HR projects and process improvements as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in recruitment
- Minimum 1 year experience in Administration (any profession or field)
- Minimum 3 years experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, required for travel between branches
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in recruitment or HR administrative support
- Degree or Diploma in HR, LR, Business, or Adminstration is an asset
- Experience in industrial, construction, or field-based environments is an asset
- Experience with New Hire Orientations and onboarding processes is an asset
- SharePoint experience is an asset
- HRIS experience is an assets
